Looks like you’re considering options that are much better than the Viper. I’m a big Zeiss fan & think the 4-16 x 50 is tough to beat for all around hunting & ringing steel way out there.
I own an old higher power Viper & the glass is marginal the eye box unforgiving but on a 22-250 it’s been accurate. Thy have excellent products in the Razor line & vipers aren’t bad but all the others mentioned are better scopes. Look through what you can find and see what looks best to you. I like most Zeiss glass better than most Nightforce glass I’ve looked through but all the scopes in that class look great.

I have the Vortex HST 4-16x44 mounted to an M1A SuperMatch. Great scope for the price. I really like its simplicity and the glass is very clear for the price point. I have used the Vortex warranty on a PST Gen II scope and it is an excellent warranty.

Easy pass on any Vortex Viper models. Been there done that when Doug @ Cameraland was praising and pushing the Vortex brand years ago. Tracking and glass both sucked. I thought a cheap Nikon Prostaff scope had better glass when compared side by side. Down the road the Vipers went, never to return.
I have several Zeiss & Nightforce scopes. IMO the glass on a Conquest V4 is better than the glass on my SHV. My hunting rifles all wear Euro glass. My target rifles all wear Nightforce scopes.

I'll also pass on the Vortex model your looking at, have Vortex Viper HS, Swaro's, Leupold and Trijicons. IMHO the Accupoint 4-16X50 is as ideal as it gets. No batteries No buttons and a bright green dot. Mine Tracks to 600(far as I've taken it). Great eyebox and eye relief is about right to boot. I'd buy more if I could find them at the price i was paying new 5yrs ago.

You must have gotten a stellar V4. The 2 I looked through, and the one I had and sold, sucked. There's no comparison in glass quality. The SHV wins, easily, hands down..
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA
