I stumbled across his website by chance and wondered why I had never heard of him before. Anybody have one of his single shots? Anybody care to comment on the quality his action - good or bad? Is it a copy of the Hagn?

I have only anecdotal info and my memory is not what it once was.

No personal interaction or knowledge.

You might try AccurateReloading.com.

I've seen his double rifles at my club's big bore shoots. Looked to be top quality. Didn't know he made a single shot, but assume it would be as well.

He actually made two single shot type actions. The falling block pictured and a target/benchrest style bolt action. I have the bolt action and it is a nice bit of work.

The single shots are quite nice. Butch has retired, so the used market is the only source. Not many out there.

I’m sorry to hear that. It seems we are losing too many of these talents…

I bought one of the bolt actions when they came out. They were a clone of a Hall action. The ignition on mine was weak, it wouldn't fire a CCI primer. I didn't keep it long.
