Sweet! I'd have found space in the safe for both of those!

Nice 71. Are they cheaper in AK? I saw one a couple years ago, that I probably should have bought for $2,000.00. It was a 4 digit serial # (first year long tang deluxe), and immaculate. It had the original bolt peep on it too. Nice rifles, if you can still shoot irons. I sold my 71 to gunner, here, who could make better use of it..

Can’t go wrong with a 71! I’m guessing it has a 24” barrel?

The K would’ve been hard to walk away from.

Very nice 71…. They’re the epitome of lever rifles.

We get better deals on MS and p64s. They like levers in this town. 2350 for special. 1450 for my p64 Alaskan in 338 win.

My only 71 specimen isn't an SG, is second year at 14K SN and yet "long tang". All original and near mint. I knowingly gave a premium in 2008, at $1800! "California gun shop pricing and my prevalent "Buy theory" asking self when likely to have another such opportunity 'in hand'. Such calculation as my youngest Son then age 4 and
myself latter sixties age. Principally living in Europe, gun collecting yielding to college fund building. That Win 71, an 'almost last exception'!

Appears you got a great rifle there Mr. K! Any price/year model details to share? That Savage 99 is spectacular too. Any basic insight on it???

BSA, sounds like a real bargain lost! All collectors 'with stripes', been there/done that! Some that got away, some of regrettably parted...

Best!
John

Too much money for you?

Probably should have bought that one....
