This one I built this year when I moved back to Idaho. Might be kind of messy now. We're just renting a little condo right now Lefty. Once the market settles and we can afford to buy a house I'll get serious about the bench.

We do however have an ACTUAL finish carpenter on the payroll. He's built some pretty nice stuff for the bossman. Maybe I'll be able to coerce some help out of him with a case or two of beer.....

Quick and easy way to get a bench top.
Take two 2x12's and put them side to side, this gives you a 2 ft deep work surface which is plenty.
Use masonite on top of the 2x12's. If it gets beat up, it is easy to attach another piece of Masonite.
I bolt my bench legs right to the wall, and put a shelf underneath for storage.
Mine is a little to messy to show in a picture right now. crazy
