I have been lucky lately . Picked up 2 95+% 39Ds 2 weeks in a row at 2 diff. fun shows. I love those things. They are the perfect 22 .I have a couple 9422 and these are just as nice. How many do you guys see? I have not really seen any the last couple years and then I run into these 2. Can you tell I'm happy? Keep looking and get to those guns shows First thing in the morning.I had to wait in line 30 minutes at the door, but it was worth it, everybody wanted to buy those guns after I had them in my hands.

In my whole long life I have seen one in a pawn shop(bought it) and one at a gun show. Now I know they are scarce because you are hoarding them! Bruce

OK, Details! What's the difference between the 39D Carbine, and a Mountie? Dose this gun have the short barrel with a pistol grip? If so, this sounds really cool! Belive me, I'll start watching gunshows a little closer. I STILL want a "trapper" 39, No, better change that to NEED a "trapper" 39. (grin!) Virgil B.

Yes Virgil, very sweet. It has the shorter barrel , plain front sight--no hood, and has pistol grip stock. It handels perfect. One has pistol grip cap and white spacer, and black butt plate/white spacer. the other one is plain wood pistol grip and just black plastic butt plate. I'll send you some pictures if you like. Just get me your e-mail. Mark.

The TDS has a straight stock with a 16 inch barrel. The TDS is probably the shortest barreled Marlin 39 that you can find today...! Bill

....My Marlin model 39 "Carbine" has a straight stock with a 19 5/8" barrel, a black plastic but plate with a white line spacer. I've checked it's serial number and found it was manufactured back in the 1960's. It was made for only two years.
