Hello Forum.... after ghosting here for a good while I wanted to post and say that this is a nice place to visit.
To the subject, I just put together my first AR lower from a Double Star stripped lower and a DPMS parts kit.
The lower looks real nice and everything functions as would be expected except for the trigger.
The trigger is horrendous. it has about 3/16" creep before it breaks. I know you get what you pay for but I wasn't expecting that kind of trigger.
What can I do about it short of buying a new expensive trigger unit?
Did I simply make a bad choice in a parts kit?
I have an RR and an OLY and their triggers are nothing like the one I just put together.... lol.
Thanks.
E_8!

I'll defer advice to the more experienced but welcome to the 'Fire!!
Biden's most truthful quote ever came during his first press conference, 03/25/21. Drum roll please...... "I don't know, to be clear." and THAT is one promise he's kept!!!

Welcome to the fire E8. If your up to it, try swapping the triggers out of your build with the Oly and see what you find. I'm not familiar with Oly's trigger, but I own factory RRA's and I have bought their 2 stage triggers for some of my other AR's and I really like them alot. I have had issues where swapping the triggers and or the springs between different lowers improved their function, can only assume it was a minor tolerance issue.

I highly recommend a RRA 2 stage trigger.

2stage RRA....
You can get some creep out with a lot of work, via a set screw where the pistol grip screw goes. But as you pre load the trigger you also are messing with safety engagement clearances that have to change and sometimes disconnect issues.
Weight can be changed by bending springs, but thats not a real great idea, as to reliablitiy depending on how much you bend.
Spend a hundred bucks or so and you'll be well off IMHO.

We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....
