Any info from you BLR devotees is appreciated.
1) From a recoil standpoint, is there any difference in perceived recoil between the pistol grip vs. straight stock grip butt stock designs?
2) For scope use, which of the two stock types is a better choice or does it even matter?

Thanks, Mike

I like the pistol grip for both of the reasons listed. I feel (subjective) like I have more control and can better pull the rifle into my shoulder this helps felt recoil and better stabilizes the gun.
I notice this in my Browning and Savage 99F both in .308.

I don't know if they kick differently but the the straight stock makes you keep your elbow up just a bit, that is good. But the pistol grip is more comfortable.

Also the pistol grip weights more - but that isn't a bad thing with the Browning BLR at all.

My BLR's are all older steel framed, straight grip models. But shooting other guns with pistol grips, I can't really tell any difference. I would say, get the one that feels the best when you shoulder it. Which one feels the best when you work the lever from the shoulder as you might when shooting at a running deer.
