The front hubs were recently replaced and soon after I started getting a "popping" sound that resembles the sound of a piece of metal popping back after you press it in with you fingers, when I turn left and right. Any ideas what it may be?

Sounds like a front U-joint to me. I'd have a piece of hide from the guy that put in the hubs. Having just replaced a u-joint and two front bearing hubs in my 06 CTD, I feel your pain.... FWIW, Dutch.

The Chevy is IFS and has no u-joints in the front suspension. It has CV axles. The CVs on the HDs are extremely stout. The sound might be the balljoints, though you have to unload the t-bars to check them.
The steering gear could also be the culprit. Could be the intermediate shaft ot the tie rod ends.
Wehn you are ready to fix all that, let me know and I can tell you how to beef up the steering so it steers as precise as a sports car.
BTW, the hubs are VERY easy to replace and can now be bought a auto parts stors for $150 to $170 each, which is less than half the dealer price.

From the sound of it , more than likely you got a CV joint going out..........I have knocked them out 3 times on my old 88 1 ton .

Unlike the C/K series, the HD CVs are very stout. This doesn't mean they can't go out. I did have an aftermarket suspension component fail on my '02 HD a few years ago, which resulted in driving 170 miles with the right side suspension fully settled down on the jounce stops. I was sure I had toased the CV, but it was fine, and it is still fine some 35 or 40,000 miles later. I can't say the same thing about front wheel bearings though..........
