As others have stated, buy with the glass in mind, as the bodies evolve at a much faster rate. Personally, I think the choice is pretty black and white....Nikon or Canon. Also, whether to go with "digital" lens', is something you'll really have to ponder. What if, down the road, you decide to upgrade your body, to your brands flagship, or prosumer level? Odds are, it's going to have a full frame sensor, and your "digital" glass is going to be useless. At present, my body(D300) is a DX sensor, but I'll be buying my big ticket glass with a full frame sensor in mind. My only DX glass are smaller, cheaper lens', that I can unload easily, and not take a bath on, when I eventually go to a full frame sensor body. With the pixel count ever increasing, the trend is absolutely heading towards full frame. You can only pack so many pixels on a DX sensor, before it starts to hurt more than it helps.
