As others have stated, buy with the glass in mind, as the bodies evolve at a much faster rate. Personally, I think the choice is pretty black and white....Nikon or Canon. Also, whether to go with "digital" lens', is something you'll really have to ponder. What if, down the road, you decide to upgrade your body, to your brands flagship, or prosumer level? Odds are, it's going to have a full frame sensor, and your "digital" glass is going to be useless. At present, my body(D300) is a DX sensor, but I'll be buying my big ticket glass with a full frame sensor in mind. My only DX glass are smaller, cheaper lens', that I can unload easily, and not take a bath on, when I eventually go to a full frame sensor body. With the pixel count ever increasing, the trend is absolutely heading towards full frame. You can only pack so many pixels on a DX sensor, before it starts to hurt more than it helps.

In the context of comparing brands and lens availability/compatability that's completly Inane.

I do agree with Jeff and tend to completly shy away from the digital lenses. The notion that theese digital lenses are superior to other conventional glass such as the L series just because they are digital simply doesn't hold any weight IRL.
I own a single EFS lens for all the reasons Jeff laid out.

Again the others make great systems, but people who own canon and Nikon treat the Olympus as the step child when they are really Cinderella!!

Deleted my response.

Nevermind.

Thanks for the lively discussion folks. I was already leaning towards the Oly simply because the kit lenses seem better(according to what I have read). I can't imagine myself ever spending the big dollars on lenses in the future, unless I win the lottery. I would rather spend my money on rifles and hunts. I will keep researching, no need to make a quick decision.
