I am asking about the first and second plane reticles really.

Some of the Euro scopes have clear glass, but the reticle gets thicker as the power selection is cranked up. It seems like this would be a problem around 300 yards and farther, any technique or pointers about this? Or do you just not use them for long range?

I have used the FFP S&B 5-25 PM2 with Holland's ART reticle from 100 yards out past 1K without problems.

Are you saying the hunting reticles that come with the Euro scopes are not suitable for long range?

Generally you want a very fine reticle for long range and some of the euro scopes have reticles that increase in size when you increase magnification.

No, not at all.
In fact, my first 5 shots at 1K were in the 6 inch range on 25x.
With first focal plane the higher the X's the larger the reticle and it has worked just fine for me.

When your cross hair covers a good percentage of your target, do you use the top edge of the horizontal cross hair?
