Anyone install one of the Wild West triggers in an 1895 Marlin? Just bought a '95 in the XLR 45-70 and am thinking this trigger would help. Thanks! Virgil B.

Not in an 1895 but I did install the trigger on my 336 in 35 Rem and I love it. Stops both the "trigger flop" and also really lightenes up the trigger pull.
Sure is expensive for that little piece of metal though! But now that I paid it, I would not want it any other way. And if I buy another 336 I will probably put it in that one as well.

flyingfool, Thanks for the reply! You're right, $80 plus is a lot of money for a trigger. Local 'smiths usually charge $30. to $40. for a trigger job. Gotta think on this one. My trigger seems to be getting better with use. Virgil B.

I was lucky with the trigger on my 1895 XLR. It came with a factory 3.5 lb pull. It was new in the box when I bought it from a longtime Campfire member.

It not much work to file/stone/polish the factory parts to a light, safe hunting trigger.

I put one in my 444P and really like it. Good 21/2 pound pull!

Got 2.
The stainless in the .45-70 guide gun is brilliant, trigger feels better than any factory trigger I've ever felt and lets me wring the best out of the gun ... groups under .6" with the 400 grain Speer at 100 yards when I have the 2.5-8X mounted up.
The other one is blued and was in a .32 mag 1894. I didn't like it, the action didn't close up clean with the WWLG trigger installed but did fine with the factory trigger. Don't know if that's an 1894 problem, .32 mag problem, or if I have 1 bad WWLG trigger. The .32 mag is gone, still got the trigger.

I installed one in my 1895GG. Easy as can be. Great trigger. I'm very happy with it. I also put on their ghost rings sight except I intentially mounted the rear on backwards.

I have used two of the WWG triggers on 1895's with great results. They were such an improvement over the factory triggers. And I bought mine through Brownell's at a better price.
If you are serious about getting the best accuracy out of your Guide Gun you should switch over to the WWG trigger. I am getting 2" groups at 100 yards off the bench.

guess I got fairly lucky, trigger seems to fairly decent on the one I use, still need to shoot my newer one enough to tell. 100 yds. and while it does group the .457 loads a little better, I can get by with the 45/70 loads, figure on working up one a little hotter for it and see if that improves the accuracy.

I just got one, on sale at Midway. The original in my xlr was not bad at all, but the WWG one with no flop is worlds better. No creep and surprise when it goes. I don't think any amount of work on a factory trigger would be comparable, it would still be floppy.
