Going to the Canadian North in 6 weeks, and looking for a Filson Mackinaw or Double Mackinaw in size 46 that someone is not using and wants to sell for a reasonable price... (CHEAP)

Prefer Green color, or might can do the charcoal as I cant stand the red and black checkerboard pattern...

I think folks that buy Filson do so with the intention of handing it down to their kids and grandkids someday. At least for ME, my Filson gear is some of my most cherished. Good luck with someone selling you theirs for cheap. I'd find a sale on a new mackinaw, wear it to the grave, then pass it on to your kids.

Check the 'net for sales. I did a quick search for you and found this one. It's $45 off, and free shipping---------about as good as you'll do other than a full blown clearance sale.

Thanks for the link, Bro... and Happy B-Day.

I know what you mean, but living in Florida, I dont aspire to wear it too often, and I have hope that someone else may be in the same boat, and may be wanting to pass it on. If nothing else pans out, I may have to bite the bullet and pop a new one, but you never can tell.

I have a green size 44 Double Mac I'd part with. It's three years old, never been worn with original tags still attached.

You might want to check on the sizes. There is a mercantile over in Elko that carries Filson and I bought a double Mackinaw jacket 2 years ago and I am 5'10" and 200 pounds and a size 48 fit me perfect, the 46 was a bit too small. My shirt size is a extra large and my pants are 32 x 32. As far as other jackets goes I wear a 46.
I also have a couple Filson vests and they are also size 48.

I'm roughly the same size as you (6'03), and size 46 is a perfect fit. I have a couple 44s and a 48 which will also work OK, but size 46 is "best" FWIW.

Items #4,6 and 7 cracks me up. Someone took their waxed cotton to the dry cleaners. Now it's all nice and clean......

Good deals can be had on Ebay... I was watching 5 different coats size 46, and the one I just got, the auction ended today... some are new and all seem to go for $100- $140. Dont just do your search by size, search Filson Mackinaw, as not all sellers list the size on the title.
