Was going through my guns (getting ready to move), and forgot all about the Weaver V9 that I have on one of my AR's.
I forgot how nice that scope is. It only weighs in at 11oz for the 3-9 model. In comparison, the Leupold 3-9 weighs 12oz, and the 2.5-8 weighs in at 11.5oz.
Great scope for a lightweight rig! Only downfall is its eye relief is 3.25", which is rather short for hard kickers. On small, and medium sized guns, I think it is fine though.
Since I have only owned this one, I cannot say if they are all durable, but this one has withstood hundreds of rounds on top of an AR, which has double recoil.
Anyone else a fan?

I like the Weavers. I have a V9 that has been on several rifles until I decide if it's a keeper or not. It was the first scope on my 300 WBY and never had a problem. It is not mounted right now that means I need another rifle!

I think all the Weavers are under rated.I think they are about the best deal out there, dollar wise, esp. the fixed series.

Have had 2 V9s for over 10 yrs not a problem. Plenty bright enough. Only available in gloss finish when I bought them. Been thinking of buying another one in matte.

I bought mine probably 6 years ago. Since Weaver has changed hands a few times since, I hope they are still quality.

I have had one for about 7-8 years. It has been on a 243 Win and now resides on my Model 70 in 7mm-08. Very clear optics, tracks well and has never needed to be "rezeroed". Considering the $99 I gave for it back then, it has been money well spent.

I've been using one on my Tikka T3 Light/.30-06, hunting deer this week. I bought a new Leupy VXII 3x9x40 to put on it before this season. I started looking thru the Weaver and just left it on the Tikka. I ended up putting the Leupy on my Sig SHR/.270.

Not sure why they don't get more press. Glad to hear others have had positive results too.
