I need some info on the 32 Remington, I found a real nice Remington 141, but its in 32 Rem. I assume this is like a 32 Winchester, can I use 32 Winchester brass?

Any info on this caliber would be great.

Thanks

PP

No, you cannot use .32 Win brass. You can neck up .30 Rem brass. The Rem rounds are rimless while the Win rounds are rimmed cartridges.

I beleive the 35 remington used the same case as the 30 and 32, you can neck down the 35 remington case, it should also be easier to find 35 remington brass,

35 Remington is a completely different case body and head dimension, you cannot use it to make 32's. Graf and Sons has 30 Remington brass that can be necked up to 32 remington. Quality Cartridge also makes new correctly headstamped brass for the 32 Remington but it is quite pricey. If loading jacketed rounds, look at the Speer 170 gr JFP for your rifle. The crimping groove is in the right place for the 32 Remington. Hornady and Speers are set up for the 32 Special and will be too long to function in the Remington Rifles. No special case prep will be needed to turn 30 Remington brass into the 32, just lube and go. I try to use correctly headstamped stuff because I have all three of the 30 Remington based cartridges. 32 Special brass is rimmed, while the 32 is not. However, the load data for the 32 Special is the same for the Remington round. Look at Reloader 7 first. Having loaded for two Remington model 14's, a 141 and Remington Model 8, they seemed to prefer that powder over others. Hope this helps, Ryan

You are correct, I was probably thinking of the 25 remington.

That for the help. Bushwacker, looks like you have a good handle on the old 32 Rem. Have you found it to be an accurate round out of you're 141? Have you shot any game with it?

If I do my part I was getting 1 inch groups at 75 with open sights. I shot two mule deer with it and both were one shot kills. Its performance is identical to the 32 special which has accounted for many deer too. Within its range limitations it is a fine cartridge and capable of good accuracy. My Remington Model 8 is good for 1 1/2 inches at 100 with its peep sight. I have taken a couple coyotes with it. As can be expected when hit with a 170 grain slug they don't move much after that. The deer all ran about 15 yds before hunching up and falling dead. I enjoy all the Remington cartridges in these guns, but recoil of the 32 is much more pleasant then the 35 remington in these light rifles. The staight stock design can be hard on you from the bench with the 35. Good luck with yours, let me know how it does. Ryan
