It is my understanding that the 450 is nothing more than a 45-70 loaded to current pressures..............then I may be wrong!!!

If you handload a 45-70 hot you have a 450.

The 450 is just a 45-70 loaded to much higher pressure. The case is belted to prevent loading of these high pressure rounds into the old guns that could not handle the higher pressure. 45-70 in a Marlin or Ruger can be loaded match the 450 M and produce identical performance.
