After reading Mule Deer's comments to the effect that he recently purchased a Ruger #1 in 405 Winchester, I am having similar thoughts. What moulds are readily available without having specials made? Any experience here with the 405 using cast bullets?

Hi Rolly-

I know you asked about regular production moulds - BUT - you really may want to consider having a mould built based on the rifle. The outfit "Mountain Molds" can produce a semi-custom mould (fit to your guns dimensions) at not much more than buying a regular production mould. I have a few & they are good moulds. Dan (the proprieter) has ben generous with his assistance and recommendations about mould design and could help you into a good design. Going this route - you probably have a better chance of getting a mould that will fit your gun and give you good/easy results.

Best regards-

Sky C.
