Years ago I bought a book about bowhunting in Africa and the guy took the Big Five with his longbow or recurve--I can't remember which. It wasn't Howard Hill, I do know that. I lost the book 10 years ago when my house was flooded, and cannot remember the title or author at all.

The book was in large format, possibly 8.5" X 11" and was is a soft cover. I seem to remember that the cover's color was sort of a reddish brown.

Can anyone help?

Was it Fred Bear?? I seem to remember that He killed the big 5 with a recurve bow.

bart426--thx but it wasn't Fred either. I'll keep researching and see what I can come up with. Google hasn't been much help, nor has Amazon.

The man was Bob Swinehart and the book was Sagittarius. He was the anti-Howard Hill. great book by the way out of print and hard to find.

SubDoc--that's it!!!! And thanks. Out of print and hard to find? You bet--there are a few copies of Sagittarius on Amazon for $150 and a couple of In Africa with Bob Swinehart for $250 as I recall.
