Well I'm having great fun with my new camera but still have lots to learn. I flubbed way too many shots especially of the animals but feel like I learned so it was worth it. I did end up with a few animal shots I liked pretty well.

The Gerenuk and Tiger pics are just straight crops. The Gorilla pic was overexposed so I adjusted the RAW exposure in PSE 7, sharpened it and changed it to camera portrait mode.

I'm shooting a Canon 50d with a 100-400L IS. I was using a monopod to help steady up.

This is a learning experience for me so constructive comments and criticisms are encouraged and appreciated.

Looking good!

I would change the crop on the Gerenuk so you're not chopping off his feet.

On the tiger, back off the crop a bit so his tail isn't touching the edge of the frame.

Of the three, I think the tiger is by far the best. Nice picture.

Makes me want to wrestle with that gorilla! Handsome devil!

Pics were taken at Disney's Animal Kingdom. I wish I'd had more time for the pics, I was trying to keep up with a 7 and 10yr old ..........................DJ
