I've just developed 2 great varmint loads for my 25-06.

75 gr. V-Max 0.030 off lands. 50.6 gr. Ramshot Big Game
75 gr. V-max 0.030 off lands. 49.3 gr. IMR 4064

Both loads also shoot with the 75 gr Sierra HP

Ain't those 75 VM's sweet? I burnt out my M77 on those.

My old gunsmith used to say that a .25-06 that wouldn't shoot Hornady 75 grainers needed a new barrel. He used that load to test any .25-06 that came into the shop.

My remington 700 shoots two loads under an inch at 100 yards. One of them is 54 grains of 4350 behind a 75 grain v max. Velocity is only about 3400 fps according to the sierra book. I shot it at 360 yards which is the farthest that I can shoot around my house. I fired 3 shots which measured just over 2 inches.

No I didn't have a chance to clock the BG load. I'm guessing it's around 3450 fps. Still room to up the charge a bit in my rifle

My Savage favors the 75 Sierra over the V-Max by a very small margin, and the price favors Sierras somewhat, so that's what I shoot in that rifle. I use H-4350 (56.0) for 3595fps, with no signs of excessive pressure. Fun to shoot, but a little noisy compared to the .221 Fireball.................
