For what its worth. Got to the range a bit today and yesterday and got to push my 22.5" tikka a bit with some re 17 including some e-tip. Here are the results..looks like the 180 e tip does make a bit more pressure than other bullets.
There is some pretty good vel here...I wish someone could get this stuff pressure tested....I had no signs of pressure including pocket expansion.

150 etip, 58.5 3017fps...looked accurate but need to retry.
150 tsx 60.0 3100fps 2.75" at 200 yds.
155 nos comp 58.5 2924 very accurate
180 horn bt 55.5 2742 not a great group
180 horn bt 56.2 2805 maybe good..too much sidewind
180 nos bt 56.5 2820 shot good..too much wind no signs
of pressure, same brass as tsx above.
Prime pockets still tight.
180 etip 52.5 2710 looks like in comparison to hornady
load above this thing needs about
2.5 grains less powder for samespeed
Again...my intent was to push things a bit. I have been using quick load as a guide. Even though my ql has re17 in it's library if I use I4350 as the powder it matches my data to a "T".
None of my loads are probably over65K at a worse case scenario and may be well below....just don't know if there is magic in this re17 as testers reported at 6mmbr website.

I'm setting up my 30-06 to do some pressure testing of the powders that Mule Deer compared in the recent Guns article. I plan to add RL 17 to list. I'll be using Nosler Partition 165 grain seconds (I have a bunch). I've got three or four boxes of factory 165 grain ammo to use for reference. For powders I plan to try Norma 204, VV 560, Hybrid 100V, RL 17, either Hunter or Big Game and one or two more common powders (H4350, I4064, etc.) This rifle has 22" barrel.

I am interested in trying the 150 E-Tips in my 2 custom '06's with VV N550. I get 3080fps with no pressure signs in my 22 inch barrel with the 150 TTSX/TSX. The fact that both rifles shoot them well under half-inch at 100 yards doesn't hurt things either!

You done any work with a .270 and R17 yet?

And one quick question if you don't mind. You mention that the primer pockets are still tight, after how many firings and those loads are you talking about?

Logger....looking forward to your pressure testing with the powder to see if there is "magic".
Mark.....don't have a .270 so can't say. But I would venture we could use quickload to conjure up a scenario or two. Re the primer pockets only two loadings on the federal brass but pockets still normal...this brass was virgin and did the 150 tsx load and the 180 bt load (2820fps) which both would seem pretty hot. I purposely used this lot of fed brass because it seemed to expand pockets pretty easy....so far no problem. I have reloaded the same brass with another dose of the same 180 bt load to see if things start to happen. I wish I didn't live in town. I have some buddy's just outside town that can walk out the basement and fire 4 or 5 shots....reload while the gun cools....repeat....all afternoon to watch for things like primer pocket expansion......I'M JEALOUS!!!

That would be nice to be able to do that wouldn't it.

If you don't mind, try marking the cases and see how long they stay tight. Run the same load in them and see if you can get up to 8-10 firings?

Just to add some additional information, I loaded some 150 Accubonds in my 24' barreled '06. Max load was 58.0 of R-17. Alliant records 3009 fps. I got 2868 fps(averaged). Accuracy was very good at 3/4" @ 100. I chronographed this load on 2 different outings. I must admit that my rifle seems to have one of the fabled "slow barrels". Except for Mule Deers 180 grn. NP loaded in front of Ramshot Hunter @ 2800 fps, all other loads are usually behind most listed velosities.

Well...exept that you have a 24" barrel and I 22.5" your data would closely match what happened with the nosler 155 grain comp bullet. Throw an e tip on top of your load and you'll probably pick up 50-75 fps.

One thing you have to remember about the guys over at 6mmbr is that they are using custon actions and their barrels are usually 30 inchers but they did comparisons using the same equipment. Will this powder be as great in sporter length barrels? Only pressure testing will tell the tale but it does look promising, i got two pounds and will try some out soon....
