I've never loaded much for the scatter guns, but like everything else, ammunition may soon be uot of reach If I don't do more. I've been offered a bunch of shot that I would guess is reclaimed from a range. What is that stuff worth? I don't even have a guess where to start the discussion!

reclaim usually runs about 60-75% of new. Shot has been falling rapidly, with new shot running somewhere between $22 and $26.

That said, I would not use reclaim for anything but fairly short distance (i.e. skeet and close shots in S.C.), and then only with the shot column fully protected by the wad --- rocks are unfortunately not uncommon in reclaim. Hate to have to buy a $1,000 new barrel set becaused you saved $20 on shot.... FWIW, Dutch.

Get a sample of said shot, out of a bag that is for sale. Check it to make sure it is not littered with rocks and dirt, like Dutch said. Assuming it is something you want to buy, we just purchased 2,000 lbs for $15.00 per 25 lbs. It has worked great for cheaper practice shells. Haven't patterned it, but would assume it is not holding together for the longer range targets.

Thanks guys! It's actually in buckets at the moment, and looks REAL clean. Very little of it is deformed, but the size varies a little. That's why I figured it was reclaimed.

If you can get it at a good price, I would say go for it. If being sold in bulk (not bagged) I would be offering $50.00-$60.00 per 100 lbs.
