Should I do it or stay with the partitions.

Richard

Yes, I tried the 105VLD last fall and posted about it in the link below. It performed exactly as Mule Deer is saying it does. I'm going back to other bullets this fall though. (just a personal choice, but the VLD did work).

It's down toward the bottom of this thread.

"I just picked up a Sako A7 in 7 Rem Mag. What load are you using? I have both 168's and 140 VLD's."

Worked up towards 64 grains of Reloader 22 with the 168 VLD's - based on previous great results with 65 grains of RL-22 and 160 Sierras... Winchester brass. Fed 215 primers.

A few nights ago shooting the Ti I tested some 6.5 140 VLD's over RL25, 7828 SC and RL17. All at 3,000 fps mv. 7828 SC giving me the best ES.

Add a .595 BC to that and you have some pretty impressive downrange numbers. High mountain mule deer here I come. I'm sure there will be a bear in the mix this fall.

I'll be using 190 VLD's out of the Ti 300 WSM for Roosevelt elk.
I've yet to ever take a texas heart shot on an elk and certainly won't this fall.

SU35,

You're shooting a 6.5X284 in the Ti, right?

Yes David I am.

And I just bought a new scope for it.

VX3 4.5x14x40 LR with M1 and a ballistic dial to match the above 140 grain load.

I know the scope may look a little large for it but I sold my vxIII in 4.5x14 and have sellers regret.

I just love that particular scope. The VLD's with a .595 BC deserve an M1 to match their potential.

I use Leupold QR bases and rings and use the same scope on
the 300 WSM Ti as well. One scope two rifles, it works for me.

I also ordered a ballistics dial to match the 30 cal 190 VLD load. I may not really need them as the regular M1 dial really suffices. I just wanted to try them out. They cost an extra $29.00 ea. when I custom ordered the scope.
