I stopped by a small gunshop today to look around and see what he had. I had always wanted a 336 in 32 Special and lo and behold, there was one on the shelf. I didn't bring it home, because I wasn't sure how the price was. The gun is in alright shape. The wood has no cracks or chips, but the finish is quite worn in some places. The bluing is also thin in a few areas. No rust, just some wear. It is drilled and tapped and has some kind of cheap scope on it. Do the 336's in 32 Special tend to bring more than the 30-30's? He had $349.00 on the tag. Is it worth it? Thanks for any help.

I guess there are a few that understand that there is a reason the .32 is called Special.
For one it is obvious that its bigger, faster not sure that one has back up , heavier, bullet just flat out kills deer deader and quicker. cool
All reasons stated above aside , I saved a model 1936 in .32 spcl from collecting dust on the rack of a local gun shop a while back . Dang rifle just called out to me , relentless it was . Couldn't sleep , dreamed about it ,woke up thinking about it , researched the model during the days , within a week I gave in. Dragged my sleep depraved butt down there and made an offer.
They accepted and $ 350 out the door including three boxes of ammo I'm happy and feel no need to waste my $$$ on a run of the mill thudy-thudy .

The .32 is special in my opinion.

I would buy it for that price if you really want one.

Buy it now! That's a good buy. You'd be surprised at what a little Tru-Oil and Brownell's Oxpho Blue Creme can do. SCs are wonderful rifles.

Thanks,
Bill

Not a bad price, but I bet you could talk them down some. Use the old "ammo is hard to find for a 32 Speical" line. That works sometimes.

I gave 175 for mine at a pawn shop few years ago. It has "some kids name on the side- Merry Christmas- GrandDaddy Aseff" engraved on the side. They couldn't sell it because of it so I brought it home. Probably the most accurate gun I own and best 175 bucks I have ever spent.

I gave $125.00 for my clunker had a sewer pipe barrel and cracked stock.Found a new barrel for $25.00 got a new buttstock and a set of Lyman sight and had it reblued. Have about $325 total in it and it shoots like a house afire. Mine is the rifle version and is not drilled and tapped. It had no collector vlue to it, so I just made a good hunter out of it
