I ran across a Savage Model 3400 in 222 Remington. Barrel says it was made in Westfield, Mass. It is in 90% condition with a side mounted scope. Any information on the rifle and what is it worth? I've gotten interested in the 222 Remington round. It has serial number 191XXX.

TomA: You are right. I went back and checked and it is actually a 340D. Thanks.

All said, the Savage 99 is a genius of a rifle. Although no longer produced, it remains highly revered, as it was the foundation from which Arthur Savage built one of America's great gun companies. >> (Jon Y. Wolfe) <<
