A member of my gun club won one of these and brought it out to the range for us to play with. The thing that stuck everyone as odd, the rifle comes from the factory without front/rear sights. The rifle does not have screw holes or dovetails to mount iron sights if you desire. It does come with a canilever scope mount which is good because you have to mount a scope to fire the rifle. It seemed to be a quality rifle that Henry puts out, but it probably isn't a tack driving varmit rig like a longer bolt action would be. The big problem with me is the lack of iron sights. Good Luck.

Cowchip,
The Henry "Varmint Express" is set-up as you described. The "Golden Boy" configuration has adjustable sights.
I'm surprised a blued version isn't listed yet...
