A friend is looking for a LH rifle. We looked some over today. He liked the T3 Tikka best. We both were turned off by the noisy stock.
Is there anything to reduce the noise of the stock like tape?
How flashy a rifle is it?
He is looking at the plastic stock w\ blue steel and maybe stainless.
Would you tape the metal if it was flashy?
Any tips on the best dealers and prices in Canada?
We are on the east coast and know zip about west coast dealers.

I would not worry about flash at all. My most outrageous test was with a group of pronghorn at about 100 yds as the wife and I sat beneath a juniper. Some hunters popped up about 200 yards away directly across the herd from us. To get the hunter's attention I pulled an empty pop can from the pack, reached out into the sun, and did my best to get them to notice our proximity with the chrome bright bottom of the can. After about 5 minutes I quit. The pronghorn never noticed us at all and neither did the hunters until we got up to sneak out. I've also flashed all sorts of things at deer, and they don't seem to notice either.

Shredder:
If I was you, I would check out Prophet River Firearms. They are situated in Alberta and "SakoAlberta" who frequents this forum is one of the principals. Everything I've heard leads me to believe that they are great to deal with.

There are usually several Tikkas to be found in the Buy and Sell/Bargain Finder as well.

Try Epps in Orillia, Ont. They have a wide selection of Tikkas in stock. http://www.ellwoodepps.com/

Shedder, I tried to send you a PM but was told you couldn't be located. Send me a PM as I may be able to help you. If possible give me an e-mail address.

GO with the Tikka in the LS model (laminate stainless). Your friend has the same reasons I did but I waited the extra year for the LS model to be released.

I should have just bought a [bleep] T3...
