Have you tried them yet? I picked up a box a few weeks ago but haven't gotten a chance to try them yet.

Whatever a 7x57 can do a 270 can do better.

True fair chase is you in the woods buttnaked with nothing but your finger nails and teeth.

If you'e fixin' to put a hole in something, make it a hole to remember.

I've tried them by proxy. A few weeks back I was with my friend as he shot two axis deer and a hog.

The axis deer weighed about 170lbs, The hog about 300.

It took the axis deer slam off their feet with a big hole like a 45/70. One had a big exit wound. They died in place. The hog too.

I've never seen an impact such at those from other 30-30 rounds including Hornady Lever-E and I've killed in the upper hundreds of deer and hogs.

I thought it would be the same as regular old HP's, but its much better. I actually find that at my sight-in point of 25 yards they are hitting higher than regular 150's and the same spot as my Lever-Es. I'm sure down range they won't hold the same ballistics as lever-e though.

I only use them in my truck gun with 16" barrel and ghost rings. for closer shooting. I'm sticking with lever-e for my scoped 30-30's.

Hope this helps

Johnny, are these hollow spire points? I can't tell from the pics on the Winchester site. Can they be used in the tubular magazines?

ps. Don't anger the powers that be!!

They are regular round shaped HP's for tubular use. They look pretty much like the old HP.
