Just returned from a hunt in Botswana and want to send a package of stuff to the PH there. He loves chewing tobacco, but it is not readily available there. He mentioned Skoal, but I think he is confused with the snuff. Any recommendations on chewing tobacco? I've only tried Red Man(and in my yute) so have no idea as to what is good today.
It is interesting how many "little" things we take for granted here are rare or non-existent elsewhere. The chewing tobacco will be part of a larger "CARE" package I will be sending.
Thanks!

Skoal is snuff.
He like loose leaf or plug chewing tobacco?
If plug then I think Days Work or Cannon ball are pretty good chews.

Well, I would reccommned Grizzly Long Cut Straight, only because, if he doesn't get much chew, then He prolly isn't used to the strong stuff. Grizzly is mild, but good flavored, and cheaper than most.

Most of my Friends like the Skoal, or Kodiak in wintergreen flavor. The wintergreen seems to be most popular {kinda like Marlboro's} so I would go with that.

snuff is that dusty crap that people huff up into there nose.
the fine cut tabacky for behind yer lip is "dip" or snus but i guess most call it "chew" even though you don't chew it like long leaf or plug.

I asked him if he meant dip, by showing how it goes between the lip and gums...and he gave me a strange look. So he must mean leafy chewing tobacco.

My dad was a life long snus (Copenhagen) user. Life lesson #1. Never set directly behind a driver that uses snus with the back window down.

Copenhagen or Kodiak for dipping tobacco, comes in the round cans. Loose leaf chaw i would say Levi Garret or Beechnut. Most people dip these days when you talk about smokeless tobacco. Chaw is good but can get messy, makes you spit constantly.

Days Works is one of the best. Tell him to mix in a bit of brandy and it is even better.

levi garret was always a favorite of mine when I wasn't chewing copenhagen.
if he wants the chew, thats what I would send. tell him to freeze it and only thaw the packages one at a time so it stays fresher longer
