And just what is it you are implying? This scope is used, no longer made by Leupold and when new you could buy them for $580 to $679 on line. In fact they are still listed for that price but not in stock.
Not trying to crap on anyone's thread here, but the scope pictured in the attachment is not the scope described. The scope pictured appears to be the 1" model with an adjustable objective as opposed to the 30mm Long Range model which are all side-focus.
I'm not sure on the model number, but I did have a 6.5-20x50 Leupold VariX-III with the 30mm tube and front AO. Mine was matte black with fine duplex and preceeded the LR models with side focus. Maybe this is a silver, non-turreted, version of that model?

Nothing implied. There are four versions of Leupolds... Vari X III, VX III, VX3, & VX3L.
For those inquiring, because there are none of these in stock, the serial number & model number, when provided to Leupold, will provide the exact model.
Nothing more.
For $450....this is a GREAT scope and at a GREAT price.
acloco I stand corrected. I called Leupold with the serial number and found it to be a VariX-III 6.5x20 with a 1" tube manufactured in 2003. MSRP at that time was $749.00. Not having purchased the scope new, I made the assumption that it was a VX-III.
