Rica and I ventured into the park to do some shooting on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Sunday evening saw a few showers drift across the big ditch, which led to a bright orange cast to the sunset as seen from Cape Royal.

The next morning led back to Cape Royal to catch the sunrise on Wotans Throne. The sun briefly peeked through the clouds before hiding again.

With the early morning light gone, the road lead to Point Imperial for a few photos with less than optimum light.

Tried taking the last photo, the hazy one of Mount Hayden from Point Imperial, and converting it to black and white to see how it would turn out. Opinions?

Awesome. I've been three times and hiked down then stayed for several days back in the 80s. One of my favorite spots in the USA.

Nikon D90 with the 18-105 kit lens. From what I have read, this lens has a little better IQ than most kit lenses.
