I actually found Federal 210 GMM primers in stock at the local gun shop! Better yet, they were only 32.95 per thou. They did have a limit of 1000 per customer, but Im just happy they had some in stock.

believe it or not, federal primers have cost me 2 of the biggest whitetails i've ever seen in my life alive. both were missfires that were hit deep. i wouldn't buy a federal primer if i could get a 1000 for a dime.

Send them all up to me then. That's all I use, and never had a hitch whether at 100*F or -45*F, rain sun, wind or snow ----- bang every time.

No offense, but you are a candidate for getting hit by lightning (or winning power ball). Guessing it was not the primers, but only you are the one that has to have confidence in what you use.

If you are talking about slam fires while actually seating the bullet. I have done that too. ( twice) and it was my fault. I think I may have loaded about 500 Wolf in the past.Nothing lately though

All the shell holders I`m aware of have a hole in the middle and don`t touch the primer during any part of the process except if using the priming attachment. Now if you seat bullets with a rock on the garage floor.............

I think the only time I've had a primer fail to fire in 12 years and who knows how many 1000's of rounds was with a box of 9mm ammo that go dunked in salt water on my boat. Suprisingly all but one round fired, and don't know if it was the primer that was a dud or that there was too much corrosion on the case to allow it to fully chamber and hence get a full primer strike.
Fws 210's are my favorite large rifle primer, speaking of which I should probably pick up another 1000.

Auger01: I don't believe it! I've still not seen a Federal primer anywhere.
Given the duration of the Federal scarcity, I may swear off them for a brand that is more readily available. I still have about a 5 year supply of Federals to go through though.

Primers can be touchy to improper storage (Humidity). I had a few misfires several years back. I attributed ty to light firing pin strike but gunsmith said "no'. Called the Remington primer lab and they spelled out what might be my problem. Stored in the basement in Wisconsin summer humidity. ZI get them dried out and not store them in air-tight ammo cans with a desicant can with them. No failures ever since. V

Federal 210M's have been my heart's delight for many years. I would sll my soul to stumble on to some locally. Been making do with a few thousand RWS LR primers I found last year. Pretty good, but not Federal Match. (Could be just my imagination. I can't really tell a hell of a lot of practical difference between any of the major brands. Just "like" Fed 210M's!)

We waited 6 months to get a 1000 210M. While picking these up, we stumbled on 200 WLR and got them too.
