I think you will enjoy your choice.
I was looking at a new Toyota Tundra this weekend and on the windshield there was a sticker that said 90% of the parts were made in the US. I wonder if any of the big 3 can say that.
A gun in the hand is worth more than the entire police force on the phone.

The auto industry is no different than any other industry. They need to make a product their customer wants and back it up with service. If they can't hang with the competition, then they better become more competitive.
Looks like you did good on the car. I'm a bit late to the thread but would say if you're going to spend alot of time driving, having a vehicle that has good seats, a smooth ride and is quiet is just as important as how good the mileage is. You'll be suprised how much less fatiqued you are at the end of the day if you have a smooth quiet ride.
I woulda suggested a mercedes e300td.

Would have bought the Benz in a heartbeat, but we only have one Mercedes dealer here and they are known for gouging on service, since they have a monopoly. Also, the E series is way outtta my price range...

Used e-series, they are pretty much 1/2 price after 3-4 years.
And yes, service is very expensive at the dealership. My big f-up was getting an e-320 wagon with 97k miles for 1/3 cost of a new one when I could have gotten one for 1/2 cost of a new one with 30k miles for my wife. I've spent the difference in purchase price in service/repairs and now have a vehicle with 157k miles vs. 80k miles.
Live and learn. But if I was spending alot of time on the road, the benz would be worth the extra cost.
