Any writers know a guy by the name of Jim Dougherty? (I think thats his first name). He wrote a book way back in the 70's about varmint hunting. Varmint Hunting Digest. My dad had the book and I borrowed it about 15 years ago - really drove my love for hunting/shooting - was funny and good info.

Was wondering if anyone had any good stories about him or knew what ever happened to him?

I'm a writer, not a writter know a bunch of writers but no writters have (somewhere) the book that you mention, by Jim Dougherty, but never met him and don't know anything about him except that he did indeed do a pretty good book.

If memory serves, he was also an exceptional authority on bow hunting. I believe I remember him writing about this subject in the late '60s.

IIRC - he also wrote a book Bowhunters Digest. Had a section on bowhunting varmints in the other I mentioned. Love that book - still read it once a year minimum.

Jim Dougherty's writings can be found regularly in a couple of the current bowhunting periodicals.
