OK, in a typical "deal", I just got a fair buy on a few fly lines. Now of course, I'm wanting a new rod! (Hey, I've built rifles around a reamer I "saved" $20 on, this this isn't out of line, right?).
Anyway, I'm looking for a good "mid-range-ish" rod (no $1000 rods are in my future....). I'm no pro, just have fun, and typically fish smaller streams here in PA for trout. I need a 3 or 4 weight rod. Also a nice 5-6 weight (yeah, I got some of that line as well....).
Just looking for a good deal on a good-fishing rod, and hopefully a reel as well.
So, anybody got anything they're not using?
PM or email with details.
Thanks!

Thanks (I think... ) 175rltw! More money, more money, more money... I'm afraid all I did was change from one outdoor addiction to another. I thought fishing was supposed to be a cheap simple sport? Grab a $10 Zebco outfit, hook a worm on the end, and go sit by the creek? No, it's not like that any more? Thanks for the link. I does look like a good resource to have!

Where do you like to fish in PA? I live in NJ, but I normally get a PA license. You might want to check out that albright rod sale that is linked a few posts below. Those rods are selling pretty cheap and I would imagine that their A-5 rod might be what you're looking for. I also like searching on Ebay for used stuff. This might be a good time of the year for used fishing stuff as we start getting into hunting season.

Hi Tom.
I'm on the other end of the state, and fish the western and northwestern areas.
Some day I'd like to venture a bit further east, as I know there are some great streams and beautiful country over that way, but for now it's just close-to-home-convenient stuff.

Hello:
I was born in Erie. I don't get over there very often, but my parents are usually there several times a year. I'd like to get over for the steelhead fishing. I'd like to make it this year, but I'm not sure I can get away. It should be starting up right about now. If you picked up a 7wt, you'd be all set. All of my family is from that area. My grandfather was from Clarion. Do you ever do any hunting out your way?
Regards, Tom

Good morning Tom.
I usually find myself in Erie a couple times a month.
Yep, the steelhead fishing should be getting into full gear about now. I might head up in a week or two.
As for Clarion, I own a piece of property on the Clarion River. It's actually for sale if you know of any friends or family looking for a piece of beautiful riverfront acreage.....
We hunt all over Mercer, Butler, Crawford, Venango, and Clarion counties. Lots of good deer, turkey, and grouse hunting over this way.
Come on over!

Check with "Braindead". He is easy to deal with and usually has a few good rods for sale.

CB I have a brand new TFO Axiom 9' 4-pc 5WT for $160.00 shipped. It's a fast action rod that has a great company that stands behind the product. They sell for $249.00 most places. I have a TiCr 5WT and have never used the Axiom. It's in the bag with all the paperwork. If your still looking let me know.
