Have to say, Savage rules all, Marlin is second choice, and Winny Lever's RULE all which that sucks!

Savage takes real bullets, not just them [bleep] flatpoints like the marlin and Winny. Savage has put real rifle cartridges in their rifles, 250, 300 Sav, 308, 284, what has Winchester or Marlin done? Oh yeah,l and my Savage doesn't sound like a friggin Bradely Fighting vehicle rolling down a rutted Tank Trail when you shake it, like the Winchester does. grin

Ya'll think 270 vs. 30-06 gets bad, watch this one!

Savage, excelling in Excellence with the 303 Sav 34 months before Winchester intro'd the 30 WCF! wink

Ah, you went with the heavier stuff, NICE! I dig Ruger rifles, almost as much as I do Marlins. Savage is still tops, even for the bolts, the bolt guns are the Chevy 350 of the rifle world. cool

The Model 88's are junk, they need a friggin magazine. grin More crap that you can lose, just like the Sako Finnwulf, although if I could find a Finnwulf in 308, i'd be a happy camper for awhile.

BLR is a good rifle, but I am looking at the everyman's rifle, the BLR's have always been a bit pricey, plus they have a magazine also. wink

I'll still stick with my Winchester 94. Ain't no rattles in my WWII produced version.

Those Savages always look all hump-backed to me. Nothing sleek looking there.

Shoot, Savage's are all about the sleekness, them older 94's are nice though, gotta be made before 60 for me even to raise an eye toward them though. grin

I'd love to have a 99 in .358 ... too bad everyone who is selling one thinks they are gold plated.

I have two 99's in .300 Savage and one Marlin 30-30. If I am going rifle hunting with a lever action the Marlin will be sitting at home. grin

I can't argue with your taste on leverguns, ingwe. I really dig the look of the short magazine tube. My Ex brother-in-law had one like yours in .32 Win. Special. I really liked shooting that rifle, almost as much as I liked looking at it.
