Here are a few pics from my recent tip to SW Florida. The water temp started out at 70 and dropped to 55 by this past Tuesday. So fishing was great early on and by Tuesday it slowed a great deal. I caught 6 different species of fish and approx 160+ fish. Everything was caught on the flyrod. Caught 16 on a tandem rig, it was pretty cool to bring in 2 fish at a time, sometimes cast after cast. The redfish were caught before first light and also a few trout like that as well. I was in the Ft. Nice job! Looks like a fun trip! I guide in Sarasota and you got in and out at the right time. Good thing you weren't here this week, instead! The cold in the past few days has put the clamps on things with the abrupt change in water temp.

Nice catch. Catching fish on a flyrod is baffling me. I can wear them out on bait tackle but have yet to catch anything (saltwater) on a flyrod. Maybe I sleep too late..... seeing the redfish was caught just before 1st light. Were you surf fishing?
