Sounds like the lead in to a joke doesn't it. Sorry there's no punch line, but its a real story.

I don't know. The whole thing sounds twitterpated to me.

Britney Spears Pulling Ahead in Twitter Awards Contest

What do Britney Spears, NASA and a llama have in common? As of late Monday night, they were all the top vote getters in their categories for the Shorty Awards, the annual prizes honoring users of Twitter.

The awards, started by tech entrepreneurs unaffiliated with the microblogging service, debuted a year ago. In keeping with Twitters crowd-sourcing spirit, the Shorties are based on votes from thousands of Twitter users themselves a format that created a bit of drama last year as nominees accused each other of buying votes and likened the process to a high school popularity contest.

Greg Galant, one of the founders of the Shorty Awards, says organizers have made a few changes this year to improve the quality of results. Final decisions on prizes will take into account not only votes but also the opinions of a panel of judges including Sree Sreenivasan, the dean of student affairs at the Columbia Journalism School; New York Times columnist David Pogue; and MC Hammer. And votes themselves will be valued according to an algorithm called shorty rank that looks at how credible the voters are.

Nominations for the awards opened earlier this month in 27 official categories, including music (currently led by Britney Spears), government (led by NASA) and weird (led by the Llama, whose feed DoWhatITellYou includes tweets like Make binoculars with ur hands and look at ur screen. Now slowly pan up to the ceiling, naming every object u pass. Good.). Nominations will be accepted until later this month, and votes on finalists will take place in February. The awards themselves will be held in March.

Mr. Galant said more people had voted in the first week of nominations than during the entire process last year. He added that results have been volatile so far, but time and just the sheer number of people voting should allow the cream of Twitter users to rise to the top. Maybe at some point, the Twitterverse will realize that singer David Archuleta does not belong near the top of the food category, where he is currently placing fifth.

I was sitting in a Medical waiting room awhile back. A family along with several young teen girls was also there. One of the older ladies told one of the girls "you look like Brittney Spears".
Girl replied "no I don't. Why would I want to look like a crack whore". I think Brits day's are numbered.

I have always found her physically very gifted.

But I have always felt sorry for her--clearly pimped by her parents for $$ and then tossed aside.

I see beautiful girls like this a lot in my practice.

Daddy used them to fill his needs (emotional, sexual, power, whatever) keeps them dumb and dependent. He dies, they fall apart.

Hannah Montana will be the next one. . . . . . .
