Im selling my contender in 309 JDJ it has a 14" pipe the frame and barrel are blued with pach. furniture, it also has a 3x12 matter burris AO scope being held in place by a leupold 3 ring mount. I have the dies and several pieces of formed brass and a new bag of 444 marling brass to go with it. It now resides in a single point unlce mikes holster. It has JDs magna port brake on it package is in excellent condition less the usual frame marks. The 309 JDJ is the 444 marling necked down to .308 cal it is printing 3/4" group with 165 Nosler BTs @ 100 if i do my part. It has a hammer spur on it as well. I will post pics this eve when i get back. Looking to get 750.00 for the setup or as always im open to trades thanks Ron

Is the 309JDJ barrel a rechamber or barrel by SSK?
What reticle is the Burris 3x12? find plex, duplex or Ballitic Plex.

Can't tell by the photos. Is the frame the later easy open model with the pivot pin above the trigger?

Mike

Hey Ron, what Mike was talking about regarding the pivot pin -

Non easy-open frames have the trigger guard pivot pin at the front of the trigger guard (normally covered by the forend)

Easy-open frames have the trigger guard pivot pin right above the trigger (always exposed)

Hope this helps!

This handgun is damn near a ballistic rwin to the 308Win.The 308 can't be shot in a contwnder platform as it's pressures are too high for the contenders tolerances. As I've said before I have killed many animals with the 309 JDJ and it is a fantastic round for animals up to elk with a good bullet and proper placement.I am in the market for a new handgun and I was thinking about another Encore but this set up with the Burris on top has me doing alot of re-thinking..Let's keep this at the top of the page.
