Sometimes you need the traction to go thru the BS on the board.

Part used to run a set of 35's (?) BFG Mud Terrains (cut) that he got off Scot Taylor's race truck on his F150. Thing hummed pretty good at 80mph on the highway.

The "regular" mud terrains are pretty loud. I had some on one of my work truks, when the Goodyears kept getting holes from rock in them.

On the highway they were noisy, but around town they weren't too bad.

That sound didn't bother me anyway.

The one's my friend had - they'd dig for sure. I've never seen anything like it. Wish he still had the truck. NOTHING stopped it.

302, stick and those tires - it went EVERYWHERE.

Why those over the All-Terrains?...just cuz?

size, only ones offered in a 255/80R17 that's about a 33.5x10

tall & skinny, there are very few options out there that get you tall & relatively skinny.

Mine was a 5.5 foot bed. The next one I get will be the 6.5 though. Those tires are pretty sweet. I was planning on running them on one of my broncos in a 38.5x14, but I had to sell the bronco to fund my hunting habits. I don't think they should be real noisy. If you want to talk about loud you need to ride in my 2002 f150. I'm running 33 inch super swamper LTB's on it, and the radio won't work half the time! People can hear me coming over 2 miles away. It will be the last set of bias plys I ever buy for sure!

Dave,

I am running the KM2s you have pictured on an 06 Dodge Diesel, size 285. They really are not that noisy on the pavement and so far are wearing awesome. I have over 15K on them now and they are measuring out to get 60K if you run them bald. I like them. I also had them siped when I put them on which I think helps them wear a little better.

Cool thanks Andy. That goes along with other consumer reviews i have read on them, surprisingly quiet, wear well, happy people etc, etc.

Sadly the truck I am going to look at today has brand new good year silent armor's on it.... can't hardly swap them out just for the hell of it if I buy this truck today.

we'll see I guess.

Tire shops will usually let you swap tires off a new vehicle, but it will cost you some. You might get $100 per tire for the OE tires on the truck as a trade in.

See if the dealer will do it. They did it on my Tahoe when I bought it. They gave me like $100 per tire, towards the BFG's I had them put on it before I picked it up.

You could see if you can get an extra set of rims cheap off of craigslist and have 2 sets. Run the road tires in the summer. I'm thinking about doing that with my Dakota. I already bought a set of 16's cause it came with 235 75R15's. Goodyear RTS's that won't dig and won't wear out.

I did the 2" leveling kit and 33" tires on my 07 Tundra and my gas mileage went to hell in a hurry, couldn't get more than 16mpg on a good day. It was normally 14.4-15 mpg

Does anybody know how the mileage is on a newer f-150?

I did the exact same thing with my Tundra and the fuel mileage went to chit in a hurry. Sold the bigger tires and went back to stock.

I now have a 2010 F-150 but cant really say what the gas mileage is, was -30F at the house this morning and with all the idle time in the last 2 days of owning my truck, it says I am averaging 14.5 after 190 miles of driving, but its idled for as long as I have driven it too.

cold temps will sap the fuel economy. I notice it here, these last few days I notice the difference in hwy cruising speed mpg readouts (instant). zero or colder i'll settle in at 17-ish & above 25 degrees it'll creep up into 18 & change. I haven't owned mine long enough to get a feel for mileage yet. I'm going to fill my first tank this morning on the way back out to the lake. I've probably averaged 15-ish with this first tank, the gas pump will tell in about a half an hour here.

Absolutely, I expect at least a 3-4 mpg difference from sub zero weather to say 50+ degree weather. I always chuckle when guys talk about installing cold air intake to make more power and better fuel economy. Though I know the two are not quite the same.

I have 4 Toyo Open Country A/T's that are 275 65 18 E rated sitting at the house that were put on my Tundra last summer. Trying to decide between selling them or buying 18" wheels and slapping them on the F-150, then selling all 4 tires and wheels off my ford as a package. The P rated tires arent worth a chit, I ate an entire set up in lass than 3 weeks last spring bear hunting!
