I just purchased a box of the 3 1/2 4x5x7 nitro shells for my remington 870 after hearing reviews about these shells. I have a primos jellyhead .660 choke. What kind of patterns are you guys getting with this combination or something similar?

225 holes in a 10" pie plate at 40 yards. tight enough that i put an aimpoint micro on the gun b/c i did not trust the bead's point of impact
I use the same or similar nitro load (51013) in my SBE2 with a rhino .660. scary thing is i think i could do better if i got the shells recommended for my SBE2, but these seem to work just fine.

I use Nitro shells from 20 ga. to 10 ga. The "truth" is, they just flat OUT PERFORM most anything else on the market... If a bird sneaks in and get much closer than 25 yards on me, I really have to aim tight for fear of missing; 20 Yards (10 Ga.)

Nitro's are really bad azz, but I think the new Hevi-shot MagBlend is going to give it a run for it's money..I watched my buddy shoot the Mag Blend thru a Rhino .660 in a 870SM yesterday 217 pellets in a 10" circle at 40 yards..That's pretty close to a Nitro if not as good and they are $4 bucks a shell verses $7-9..And don't have the wait time...

I love my nitro's! I have shot them in several guns and they all pattern well. I picked up some Magblend Hevishot shells at the NWTF show today. I'll report back how they shoot. They were cheaper than the typical nitro loads and should be more available. They will have to shoot as well though or I won't use them. Lee

4x5x7 Nitro Hevi H378's through a Kicks .660. The next batch I order will be H378i straight #7 hevi shot, the 4's and 5's just get in the way.
When I die I hope I don't start voting democrat.

Guys,
Where can one find the Hevi Shot magblends? Saw them last week at Gander Mountain in Fayetteville NC. According to the posters on a turkey hunting web sight I frequent all the GM stores have it now.

I'm getting similar numbers from my 21" cantilever barreled, 11-87 and the Rhino .660 choke. The key to getting Nitro's to throw these tight patterns is a CLEAN barrel. I typically use Kroil and JB paste before each season as recommended by Nitro Ray himself. After using the 3" Nitro for the past few years, and seeing it perform, I see no need for the 3 1/2" version, at all. Every turkey shot was DRT, including one shot at 62yds backing up another hunter using 3 1/2" Hevi-13. JMHO.
I never thought I'd grow up to be a grumpy old man, but I did, and I'm killin' it.

Nitro Hevi Shot is the only way to go for top notch turkey patterns. They are really hard to beat paired up with a Rhino or Jelley Head choke tube.
