Been there before for sure, which brings me to another question. What kind of warranty does Sage offer? I am actually headed online to check into that right now and look at a few. I really like orvis because of their waranty, but in the same breath, I want to try something different and think that a lot of the money you shell out for orvis is paying for the name. Thanks for the info, I am going to do some research right now.

Rods are funny... they are not as important as lines, but grab all the headlines... Pun intended...

Video I have seen a number of times with Lefty at a show and a guy keeps butting in to tell him how perfect the rod is he is using. Lefty repeatedly says "No, it's the line" and the guy keeps going.

Finally Lefty says, "Yeah you are right" while he empties the reel in front of the group and grabs the line in front of the rod tip and false casts once and tosses the entire line with his arms only...
"Yup, must be the rod."

Mark Begich, Joaquin Jackson, and Heller resistance... Three huge reasons to worry about the NRA.

That's funny, my fly fishing professor in college did the same thing. Although, we all know the importance of good line, he demonstrated that for those in the class who weren't avid fly fisherpeople (which was everyone but me). I found it interesting.

Fishing like hunting, I buy what I can afford at the time with the money I have in my pocket. I am still fishing with my 70's vintage Browning Boron and a small Ross reel. Of course I generally fish *cricks* instead of large water. Santa did bring me a U-Boat float tube and waders last Christmas so need to start hitting the sales and find a large arbor and longer rod.
