My brother-in-law just got a Hi-Point semi pistol in 9mm. I may be a little biased, but I was not impressed by it in the least. The whole thing seemed kinda cheap and chincey to me. There were no instructions in the box either!
Any one else hjave any experience with these guns? Just wondering if I'm alone in my thinking.

I don't own one but I have shot and more or less wrung out three that belong to friends of mine. I agree with you they look like prizes that come in cracker jack boxes. However the three that I have used work like a sewing machine. I don't want one but I have to say that those three worked as good as anything else.

My friend picked one up on sale and loves it. He uses it mostly plinking. I've shot it and have to say it isn't as clean as some of the other's I've shot, but it keeps working and he's never had a problem with it.
As a side note, he keeps telling me that he couldn't have gotten anything else - because he couldn't have afforded it. For the price, it's better than nothing.

I have one in .40 S&W...rather bulky, but works. Got it for $110, so I got that goin' for me. My only complaint is the clip. It allows the rounds to slip around too much, causing jams sometimes. But, like I said, I got it for cheap, and I don't expect much from it, and a most times, it's surprisingly pleasent to shoot.
