Any problems with them? Is Satterlee same quality? I am wanting a magnium action for a .404.

Other than being a little heavy - which is not necessarily a bad thing for a 404 - the newest ones that I have looked at have improved a lot in quality. They still take a little work for final finishing and to make sure they feed perfectly but so do most other actions.

You could also go with Reimer Johannson...jim

Listen to Phil. They need work, but make a nice receiver. Butch

This is off topic a bit, but does anyone know what actions H & H and Westley Richards and Rigby uses for their bolt action rifles?
I would assume a newly built 98 Mauser type, but I don't know who might make them.

According to http://www.satterleearms.com/ they supply actions to the builders you mentioned.

Thanks.
Nice, but a little expensive.

My Satterlee wasn't that expensive and it was nice. I don't believe that Stu has the manufacturing capacity for the above named custom places. Butch

I'd love to have one of Stu's titanium mausers...but cannot bring myself to cough up that much coin for the action.

Don't know what your breaking point might be on price with regard to Satterlee's Ti actions, but depending on what he has on hand, you can sometimes get a deal from him on a used action that someone has traded in. I had the chance to do that a few years ago and stupidly didn't take it since it was a mid range action and I couldn't convince myself that a 7x57 or 6.5x284 would be an acceptable chambering for what I had in mind.

Off the shelf Satterlee's quality is better, but I wouldn't order one. It could be 3-4yrs. Butch
