Bloody revolution, likely not unless the Messiah gets assassinated. Political revolution is in the wind. Good or bad, who knows.

Got to go load some more bullets...

Seems to me that balkanization is more likely. The country is becoming both politically and socially polarized.

The only thing which holds it together as a unit is the power of the Federal Government,...and it's losing legitimacy by the day.

Of course, the collapse will have to occur first and then there will be a period of time where everyone just kind of hangs around waiting for everything to get back to normal. When that fails to happen, the people will start looking to their state leadership and states will start looking at other states which share the same general culture.

Yeah, me too. I figure I've got 15, maybe 20, years left on this rock. I ain't givin up by not voting and not being vocal, but I fear for our children and grandchildren. Sad situation we're in as a country. Never thought I would see the citizenry being duped so thoroughly. Sad, truly sad.

Not thinking the majority were duped in this case. They didn't get kissed first either.

Otter, do you have a twin?

Nope. And the world is a better place because of that.

Amen to that, though I'd say "uninformed and uneducated", courtesy of "modern liberal education".

In my view 0 represents the "perfect storm". The US was already facing grave fiscal problems before he was elected. His policies are ensuring that those problems will become an enormous, full-fledged crisis. This will be exacerbated in the extreme by the mass retirement of the baby boomers. Social Security is already essentially bankrupt, Medicare is in big trouble - where are we to get the endless billions to fund the NEW entitlements? Not to mention the destructive effects of Cap & Tax plus other anti-business initiatives...

I'm hopeful that the result of the coming crisis will be a new conservative era that once again celebrates what actually made our country great - not the failed policies that've resulted in mediocrity elsewhere around the world.

For me and mine the only course of action I see at this point is to be as independant of government as is reasonably possible.

I figure being as debt free as reasonable and buying or trading for goods and services locally, with minimal interference is a good start. I will try my best not to support those who choose to destroy us from within.

I didn't use the excuse Bob but I have freaking eyes and ears. I hear what's going on around me.

Girl at work today "I didn't read the bill and haven't been following it but this is really awesome. Finally we won't have to pay for health care and I can get a breast job for free"

She has a 100,000 dollar PRIVATE education.

We, people like you and me, are in a minority we don't understand. SCOTUS may or may not even take this issue up and I am less and less inclined to think they will - give how they've ruled on the 10th amendment before.

I don't wish for any of this to happen but it is happening - mostly because too many people have been allowed to vote who refuse to think.

I have voted in every election...preety much stright line repub...definitely repub for pres....was as much a repub as isaac once...but lately I have little hope that it makes much difference...Repubs do not shrink control of the .gov...they just grow it a very little bit slower. Voting isn't gonna fix a damn thing....unless you think putting a bandaid on a compund fracture "fixin"

I do not think so. Not in the next forty or maybe fifty years.

First the feds will nationalize another automobile manufacturer or five or six. What? We only have two left? Don't forget the Honda, Toyota, etc factories in the states.

Then they will nationalize all the hospitals and other provider networks, and then the banks.

And this will probably take about twenty years.

After that they can start on all the other industries in the nation, probably all energy first, then the rest of the manufacturing sector.

At that point, they will get around to nationalizing all the farm ground. And then people will start to get hungry in this nation for the first time in over a century (from that date). People will finally get tired of standing in line all day for a loaf of bread. And then, and only then, will they put away whatever future version of the Play Station they use to entertain their silly selves.

As long as the leeches continue to have bread on their table and TV and video games to entertain them, they will continue to vote for the Socialist.

So long as the guvmint can keep the entitlement crowd satisfied by sending them a check nothings going to happen. It's when the checks aren't there or won't be cashed that things will break loose.

That group doesn't mind looting, burning, killing or going to jail....it's us that have worked hard and accumulated a little something that are loathe to lose it. We will act only when we can do it to defend family or property. I don't think we'll coalesce into an effective group apart from the ballot box anytime soon.

My son is supposed to get a state income tax refund but Alabama notified him that the refund will be delayed. Didn't say how long but they will not pay penalty and interest on the refund. If we are late you can bet we pay penalty and interest, though.

We try to create change through the ballot box and the 'dark side' tries to create change in the streets. They've been more successful that we. I've voted as conservatively as the ballot would allow since Goldwater and look where we are. I'm glad I'm old.
