+1. I don't do it often as I think it's unnecessary but this is what I do, when I do.

I use a small screw driver and I have a couple of those little wire brushes someplace...I have done some testing on dirty primer pockets and really can't see any adantage to cleaning them..they clean pretty will in tumber of viberateing case cleaner if you deprime before you clean your brass...I shot a lot of cases over the years in a simi controlled test and never had anyt kind of a mishap from cases that never got cleaned for what its worth.

I have an end mill tool bit that cleans them very good.Sometimes I chuck it up in a cordless drill and run it slow if I have bunch of cases.

I run a bunch of handgun cases through a Dillon Square Deal B.

Sooner or later, you have to deprime each and clean the pockets or your primers will not seat all the way in.

Less then 1 second per pocket gets most of the crud out so when I'm seating new primers its not crunchy.

That's what I do also.
Same system with the RCBS wire brush, and super fast.

I had a benchrest shooter also tell me this.. so I followed the same philosophy...and for the last 10 to 12 years.. it hasn't made a hill of beans worth of difference..

but everyone thinking so, sure sells a lot of product..

What Wildswalker said: +3 IMO it's just another anal time waster. (and as posted, it sells a lot of little gizzies and gives rise to learned debates in here about which is the "best" primer pocket cleaner smile )It's your time to spend but I've never found it to make any difference at all.

I do that AND put some "0000" steel wool on the tip of a RCBS primer pocket cleaner brush and do a few turns.

Most likely over kill... but I have the time
