I just bought the remake of the old stevens 'favorite' for my boy, has anyone else tried one yet? It seems to shoot ok, but im a little dissapointed in the fit and finish, the new ones dont seem to be as slick as the old ones, any input on this rifle would be welcome...thanks, gutpile

gutpile,
Are you looking for history of the gun, or something else? (btw, wish I'd thought of that handle .... always brings a smile.)
LC

I bought one 20 years ago for daughter, first
thing I did was refinish wood, took to smith
and removed the transfer bar and slicked the
trigger pull a little. She shot it for a year
and moved on to another rifle. I used it scoped for 10 years as a squirrel rifle, gave
it to son-in law as a pest rifle. No problems, never tryed to make a match rifle out of it but accurate enough for close work.
greybeard
