I'm watching my traditional "Saving Private Ryan"! Praise God for our troops! I saw a piece on the Today show this morning where a 48yo doctor volunteered for Iraq duty. I thought I was too old at 49, hmmmmm.....................

Seems like I spend every Memorial Day doing the same thing as you guys.
I am headed out the door for coffee with two friends who were stuck in Khe Sanh in 1968 during the siege, when I was the ripe old age of three. We will then go to the cemetery for the Memorial Day service. After that, the tube is on and I am watching movies about those who served.
God bless them all, and those who are currently serving. I am deeply grateful for your sacrifice.

If you are of Finnish descent, as I am, read the book Frozen Hell, by William Trotter. This book is about the Fins fighting the Russians in WWII.

I was going to start Band of Brothers, but there's not enough day left to get through it. Will prolly watch Private Ryan instead.
