I am in need of a new pair of boots and am considering a pair of Muck boots / Edgewater model.

http://www.muckboots4sale.com/Edgewater_Boot/

Any one with experience with these or any other Muck boots? Open to suggestions, and/or comments.

Thanks.

I have a pair that I have had for at least 5 or 6 years. They are due replacement, but they have given me good service.

Been using the other brands for years and wanted to try Muck Boots. Which ones for down south in our warm to slightly cold with no snow winters?

I have the model you linked. I find they're fantastic wet environment boots. They're both comfortable and light.

Good wool socks are a must with these boots though. They aren't breathable and they aren't insulated.

I had 2 pairs (1 was a gift.) and won't buy them again. The material is just not durable enough. Both sprang leaks within a short time.

These might be a better choice for colder climes.

SC,

i guided a bunch of hunters two years ago that we re sold to this brand. it worked in the tundra, the small water we have around, in the boat and of course the snow. they never get wet feet but maybe it s due to the stove during the night ... they re light but as with any rubber boot without ankle fit they do not support that much the ankle.

i suggest you to try them in a shop if you can ...

the only one that may interest me is the bayou model ...

whatever it s rated i dont rely on this over -10c ... im old fashionned guy and still using Prarie Acton in summer, fall and in winter for ice fishing ....

Thanks for the replys.

Nuther question ... What about sizing? Do they run large or small? I'm going to be buying on-line, so getting chance to fit won't happen till after the shipping.

Been using them for awhile now. I bring a pair to Alberta and my guide likes them for temps into the 20's or so and takes the new pair I bring;he uses them hard through the year so takes my new ones everytime I go. I like them for New England during deer season;and the low cuts for early spring fishing.

For the most part I use those and Shnees for most deer hunting here.

Super Cub, Kittery Trading Post and Cabela's Scarborough carry them if you get that far south.

As irony would have it, I was in both those shops a month ago and never even thought of trying a pair on. blush

I've had a pair for three years. They are the easiest on/off, pull on type boot I've ever tried, and that is a big deal to me. They are extremely comfortable for walking and provide moderate ankle support. They are rated for below zero temps, but the teens are about as cold as I experience in Alabama, so I don't know how well they do in that regard. Used with a good pair of heavy socks, they have kept my feet as warm as the best of the insulated boots I've used over the years.

They do not breath as well as some boots, and I have an issue with heating up whenever I walk/move a lot. I am very hot natured. My feet will start sweating very quickly when walking any long distance, even in cold weather. For that reason, with the Muck Boot as well as any other heavy hunting boot, I remove them after leaving my morning stand and put on a pair of high top non-insulated hunting shoes for mid-day stalk hunting. When it comes time for getting on the evening stand, I pull the Mucks back on. The easy on/off feature really makes this easier than ANY other boot I've ever used. One of my hunting buddies even bought a pair for himself after just watching me take mine off one time.

I love mine, have a pair of fieldblazer's, woody max's and the camp shoe. I wear my fieldblazers when I'm out training dogs (almost every day of the year)and they have held up just fine for what I do and they are WAY more comfortable than a rubber boot. Size runs true

sorry for the delay. Mine are the run of the mill, Chore boots. There are others that are nicer, I am sure, but mine still don't leak.

They are alright. I use them heavily and the last me about 7 months. They have no more ankle support than a sock which is no big deal to me. Ankle support don't mean squat for reducing injuries until you get into ski boot type stiffness tests have shown.
