Starting with a 1A 26" barrel 300 winnie @ 35 YO. I bought it 4 monthes ago in France but I'm still glued with red tape ... I'll get it friday then I'll have a week to wait before I can register it as mine ... And then I'd make a custom from it.
You barely see no No 1, nor ruger rifle, at all around here. Hard to find one, impossible to find the one you want, very poor importation.

Just figure private gun sales, even from a UE country to another UE country, follow the same rules as international war weapons sales to foreign armies and governments (even the forms are the same, you just write "1" in the "how many weapons" column instead of hundreds or thousands). So if the official and professional importator of a brand is not very pro-active (which is the case with ruger and sako) ...

Bought my first one when I was 37. Have had at least a half a dozen since then. Bought my last one at 67, probably my last one.

My first one was a gift from my Father about five years ago. I'm 44 now, and counting the one on order, I'm up to four. I keep telling myself at least it's better than spending it on dope and hookers At least when I'm gone my kids can still get something out of 'em.

A few shotguns, but all of my stuff including my No. 1 in .458 Win is packed away in the US. BTW, I don't think the age thing is relevant today, with so much nostalgic stuff being released. Look at the cowboy action rage today. I am 71 but I bought my No. 1 over 27 years ago.
